6. Adapting a FAST helmet to existing gear

The PTT and radio described in the story were selected separately.
8. Wearing active hearing protection under a helmet
“I spend long days on the range, so I wanted active hearing protection that would fit under my helmet without a headband across the top. The Sordin neckband sat low enough that it did not press against the rear straps, and the ear cups sealed properly once I adjusted them. The foam cushions started to feel a bit firm after a few hours, so I would probably switch to gel cushions next.”

Sordin Supreme Pro-X Neckband – Tactical Hearing Protection Headset
The package includes the Sordin Supreme Pro-X Neckband headset, standard foam ear cushions, and a user manual. The headset uses level-dependent sound control and runs on two AAA batteries. Optional gel ear cushions can be installed for longer wear. This configuration does not include a boom microphone or PTT for two-way radio communication.
